Steamfitter Business
Representative
The role of the Business Representative is to serve
the membership of Local 230 while attending to the daily operations and
interactions of the local under the supervision of the Business
Manager. The Business Representative needs to remain current on all the
changes in the piping industry, all new technologies as they become
available, and understanding the newest methodologies of training. I
exceed these expectations by attending many seminars and passing that
new information to the Journeymen and Apprentices of our Local.
I also provide leadership as a Trustee to the
Apprentice and Journeyman Training Trust. I serve as a Labor Committee
Member on the San Diego and Imperial Counties Pipe Trades Joint
Apprenticeship Committee. I am a seated Delegate to the San Diego
County Building and Construction Trades Council and to the Imperial
Valley. I sit on many community
colleges’ welding advisory committees as well.
My goal is to provide signatory contractors with
the best men and women in the piping industry. I accomplish this goal
by understanding that excellent training is the core of the United
Association. If you can see yourself as a UA Journeyman or just want
more information about the apprenticeship program, please call.
If you are interested in becoming a union
contractor, see what the UA has to offer. We produce well-trained,
hard-working Journeymen and Apprentices that you can count on. We can
meet your manpower needs whether its one worker or one hundred. Our men
and women are dedicated to the trade and take pride in their work. The
UA can meet your needs in all aspects of the trade: auto-cad, all
applications of welding including orbital welding, ploy fusion, brazing,
medical gas, controls, and plumbing just to name a few. To learn more,
please do not hesitate to call.
