NOTES FROM THE FRONT News from your UA Director of Organization – Kirk W. Smith I am pleased that as we embark on a new journey with new leadership that we have not only renewed the commitment to organizing, but also have committed to strengthen efforts to make us more successful in the future. President Hite has listened to our concerns that hinder organizing, and has committed to make the changes necessary for Local Unions to strengthen their market share by removing the internal politics that hamper organizing efforts. In order to make prudent changes, we will be asking for input from International Representatives, Business Managers and Organizers. These three groups will meet separately and have the opportunity to make suggestions for a stronger and more productive United Association. I am also in the process of arranging the seminars for the future to keep all the organizers updated and current. Schedules will be forthcoming. I am looking forward to working closely with all of you. And, with the help of the U. A. Officers, we can utilize all the strengths of the U. A. toward the betterment of the membership.
